Privacy Policy
1. About this policy
Infin8 Electrical PTY LTD ("we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where they apply, the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and store it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint.
2. What personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our electrical services and run our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- your name, phone number, email address and postal or site address;
- details of the property and the electrical work you ask us to quote on or carry out, including photographs of the site where needed;
- payment details, such as the name on the account used to pay an invoice (we do not store card numbers; payments are processed by our payment provider);
- records of our communications with you, including enquiries sent through this website, emails, text messages and phone calls;
- technical information when you use this website, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit (see "Cookies and website data" below).
We do not usually collect sensitive information (such as health information). If sensitive information is relevant to a job, for example a medical need that affects an electrical installation, we will only collect it with your consent.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you call or email us, send an enquiry through this website, book a job through our online booking system, accept a quotation, or pay an invoice. We may also receive information from a real estate agent, property manager, builder or other person who engages us on your behalf, or from publicly available sources where that is necessary to carry out the work.
If you give us personal information about another person (for example a tenant or a co-owner), please make sure they are aware of this policy.
4. How we use your personal information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation;
- schedule, carry out and follow up electrical work, including sending arrival-time updates;
- issue invoices, process payments and keep the records we are required to keep by law, including electrical safety certificates and compliance notices;
- contact you about warranty, safety recalls or maintenance relating to work we have done;
- comply with our legal obligations, including those under Western Australian electrical licensing and safety laws;
- improve our services and this website.
We will only send you marketing material if you have agreed to receive it, and every message will include a simple way to opt out.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:
- service providers that help us run the business, such as our job management and online booking system, accounting and invoicing software, payment processors, email and SMS providers and website hosting;
- subcontractors and suppliers engaged to carry out part of the work, to the extent they need it to do the job;
- Western Power, Building and Energy (the Western Australian electrical safety regulator) and other authorities where the law requires us to lodge notices or certificates about electrical work;
- our professional advisers, insurers and debt collection agents where necessary;
- anyone else you ask us to share it with, or where the law requires or permits disclosure.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia (for example in the United States or the European Union). Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Cookies and website data
This website sets a cookie only where it is needed for a page to work, for example to protect the enquiry form against misuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our web server records standard technical information about each visit (IP address, time, pages requested and browser type) for security and troubleshooting.
Links to our online booking system, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn take you to services run by other companies. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our website.
7. How we store and protect it
We store personal information in secure, access-controlled business systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Enquiries sent through this website are stored on our server in Australia and are only visible to authorised staff who sign in with a passkey.
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide our services and meet our legal obligations. Records of electrical work and the related compliance documents are kept for the period required by law. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing hello@infin8electrical.com.au or calling 0479 088 001. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request we will explain why in writing.
9. Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
